FORMER MUNCIE MAN DIES IN CALIFORNIA
Donald G. Monroe, formerly of Muncie, died Feb. 19 at his home in San Francisco, Calif. He was the son of Robert W. Monroe, former Delaware County auditor, and was employed as machinist at the Ball Brothers plant before leaving this city 30 years ago.
After service in the Navy during World War I Mr. Monroe made his home in San Francisco, where he worked at the Mare Island and Hunters Point shipyards. He attended Muncie Central High School and was a memer of Beta Phi Sigma fraternity.
Surviving are the widow; a daughter, Mrs. William Reilly of San Francisco; his mother, Mrs. Alice R. Monroe of Sacramento; a sister, Mrs. Agnes Kirkman of Sacramento, and a brother, Bruce Monoe of Santa Ana. Relatives living in Indiana include an uncle Ollie P. Bowers of Muncie and the following cousins: Reid Bowers, Mrs. Harry Chaddock, and the Misses Mima, Mary and Carrie Keener, all of Muncie, and Mrs. Bessie Green Wininger of Anderson.
