Marriage Announcements and News

Solomon Tribune, September 28, 19047736

Blair-Orr

Thursday morning, September the twenty-second, a few relatives and friends gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. N. Blair, south of Solomon, to witness the marriage of their daughter, Effie LaMoile Blair, and Luther Cameron Orr, of Kansas City, Missouri.

Rev. Herbert E. Blair, cousin of the bride, officiated, assisted by Rev. Rankin.

Miss Stella Blair, of Wa-Keeney, another cousin, presided at the piano, and promptly at half after nine o'clock, sang,—

With the opening strains of Mendelsohnm's "Wedding March," the bride and groom descended the stairs, the ministers meeting them in the hall, and took their places before the front window, which was a bower of green vines.

Faint music continued through the impressive ceremony which included the beautiful ring service.

A bountiful breakfast was served, and merriment overflowed.

The bride wore a dainty gown of white wool crepe trimmed with white satin and heavy English lace, and carried a shower bouquet of Bride roses.

Her going away gown was of brown silk with hat to match.

Many gifts, beautiful and useful, were received.

A merry crowd attended them to the Union Pacific station, where Mr. and Mrs. Orr took the 1:50 p. m. train for Kansas City, where they went direct to the home Mr. Orr has prepared for his bride.

Their friends saw to it that their departing was attended by all proper and (un)ceremonius credentials.

CAMERON L. ORR IS DEAD

Pneumonia Is Fatal to the Former Prosecuting Attorney.

Cameron L. Orr, formerly prosecuting attorney of Jackson County, died Sunday night at his home in Kansas City.

Death was due to pneumonia. Mr. Orr was 46 years old.

Cameron Luther Orr was born in Salt Springs, Mo., August 14, 1877. His father was James A. Orr, a farmer. Orr lived on the farm and attended the rural school. Later he enrolled at Park college, Parkville, Mo., where every student has to work his way through school.
