The wedding of William D. Persons and Miss Edna Lee, daughter of A. W. Lee of Walnut, took place Friday evening at the residence of Rev. W. F. Harper, pastor of the First Baptist church. The bride wore a tailored suit of cream white serge, and immediate after the ceremony they left on their wedding trip. Upon their return they will live on the ranch owned by Mr. Persons at Walnut.

William David Persons of 1204 N. Indian Hill Blvd., Claremont, formerly for more than half a century a Walnut district resident, died in San Antonio Community Hospital, Upland, at 12:23 this morning. He had been in failing health for a year. Mr. Persons was born Aug. 8, 1879, in Pierce County, Wis. He came to California from Wisconsin in 1902, and from then until 1958 he lived in the Walnut district, where he was a citrus grower, active in community affairs, and during most of that time served on the school board. He moved to Claremont in 1959.
Mr. Persons was a member of La Puente Lodge 446, F&AM, and of the Claremont Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary C. Persons; two sons, Harrison A. Persons of Pomona and Robert W. Persons of Claremont; a daughter, Mrs. Robert S. Harvey of Fullerton; two brothers, Harry A. Persons of Pomona and Joe L. Persons of La Verne; a sister, Mrs. Grace L. Garner of Pomona; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 9:30 in Todd Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Kenneth McCandless, pastor of the Claremont Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Interment will be made in Pomona Cemetery where the Masonic ritual will be conducted by La Puente Lodge 446.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 145 W. Badillo St., Covina.
