Miss Rothwell Is June Bride

Mr. and Mrs. Merton Peterson to Live at 806 South Euclid Ave., and Continue Schooling

Given by her father, Patricia Lou Rothwell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert F. Scott, Brandon, became the bride of Merton Howard Peterson at 3 p. m. Sunday in the Methodist church at Rowena. Mrs. Ruth Peterson, Brandon, is the mother of the bridegroom.

The bride's costume was made of ivory slipper satin with an embroidered chiffon yoke, falling in a long full train. Her flowers were fashioned of white roses and white gladioli, from which her going-away corsage was taken later, and she wore a gold pendant that was a gift to her grandmother on her 50th wedding anniversary.

Reception at Home

In the wedding party were Paulina Peterson, maid of honor, who wore an off-the-shoulder blue jersey; Ollie Oversaker, Frances Scott, Lorna Pearson and Helen Vick, bridesmaids; Penny Sue Martini, flower girl Dennis Scott, ring bearer. Max Rothwell, brother of the bride, officiated as best man with Curtis Graff, Burton Ode, Lewayne Ode and Roger Anderson acting as ushers.

The bride's home Shady Lane farm, was the scene of the reception, where her grandmothers, Mrs. M. F. Martini and Mrs. Elmer A. Scott were at the coffee services. Assisting in the dining room were hostesses Mesdames Warren Wright, Lloyd Jones, Steno Severson, Ed Adolphson and Miss Carrie Simons, Barbara Ann Jones, Noel Wright and Flora Mae Voogeli were junior hostesses and Georgia Larson was in charge of the guest book.

To Reside Here

For her going-away costume the bride chose a black linen suit with white accessories. After July 1, they will be at home at 806 South Euclid. Mrs. Peterson plans to continue her nurse's training at Sioux Valley hospital and the bridegroom will resume his service-interrupted education.

Funeral Services Saturday For Manager Of Cactus Heights

Merton H. Peterson, 51, Rt. 2., manager of Cactus Heights and 23-year employe of Terrace Park Dairy, died Thursday in a local hospital, the same day he was admitted.

There will be a private committal serviced followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church.

Mr. Peterson was born Feb. 3, 1924, at Colton. He lived at Brandon before entering the Navy in World War II. The longtime Terrace Park Dairy employe had served as routeman, sale manager, office manager and controller before retiring from the company in August of 1972. He built and developed the Cactus Heights golf course area and had devoted the last few years to its management. He served as a member of the Siouxland Vocational School and for many years was a member of the Sioux Falls College Board of Trustees.

He married the former Patricia L. Rothwell June 8, 1946, at Rowena.

Survivors include the widow; four sons, Robert F., Merton C., Mark A., and Richard T.; a daughter, Susan; his mother, Mrs. Ruth Peterson, and a brother, Clarion, all of Sioux Falls; four sisters, Mrs. Henry Mannes, Mrs. Bernie Graff and Mrs. Alvin Schock, all Sioux Falls residents, and Mrs. Rolland Richardson, Garden Grove, Calif., and a grandson. The George Boom Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
