Mildred R. Petkus

YORK - Mildred Romaine (Stambaugh) Petkus, 91, entered eternal rest on January 17, 2021.

"Millie" was born on March 22, 1939, in her family's farm house outside of Admire, PA.

She was one of ten children raised on the Stambaugh family farm. She was a hard worker from an early age, and spent most of her adult life working in food service. In the late 1980s, she retired from Reisman Pretzel Company of southern New Jersey, where she resided until the passing of her husband, the late Joseph Petkus.

Millie was known for her homemade Pennsylvania Dutch cooking. Her famous pot pie and chicken corn soup warmed the bellies of many family members over the years. She was also an avid sports fan, and enjoyed cheering on her beloved teams— most notable the Philadelphia Eagles. Additionally, Millie was subscriber to the Reader's Digest, enjoyed game shows, music, and daily crossword puzzles.

She is survived by seven children, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
