REESE POLLARD DEAD

Well Known Dayton Man Dies in Roanoke Hospital After Operation

Reese Pollard, a well known carriage maker and shoemaker, of Dayton, died Sunday at 1 o'clock at Franklin Rhodes Hospital, Roanoke, where he had gone ten days ago and was operated on for cancer of the bladder.

Mr. Pollard was about forty-five years old and was never married. He made his home with his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. McLaughlin, in Dayton. He was a member of the Christian Church. His father, the late Charles Pollard, was postmaster at Dayton during the Grant and Hayes administration.

Surviving Mr. Pollard are three sisters; Mrs. McLaughlin, with whom he makes his home, Mrs. Joseph Rhodes, of Roanoke, and Mrs. Kent Brower, of South Carolina.

The funeral will be held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Presbyterian Church. Rev. H. R. Borthwick will conduct the service.
