DEATHS AND FUNERALS

James P. Reid—Mrs. Joseph Gallion—Infant Benson.

James P. Reid died at 2:30 p.m. yesterday at his residence, 116 south 4th street. The funeral will occur there tomorrow at 2 p.m. Rev. Alex. Gilchrist officiating; interment at Earlham.

Mr. Reid was born July 26, 1826, in this city, and removed with his father, Daniel Reid, to Ft. Wayne. He was married to Ann T. Reid, his cousin, in 1852. He was the father of eight children, five of whom survive him: Mrs. Mattie M. Hampton, Florida; Wm. S. Reid, Mrs. Jennie M. Towle, Mrs. Fidelia R. Pyle and Anna E. Cunning, all either living in or near the city. He returned to Richmond in 1861 and farmed until about four years ago, giving it up then on account of his health. He was a long sufferer with rheumatism, hay fever and stomach trouble. He was a member of the United Presbyterian church.

FUNERAL OF MRS. REID.

The funeral of Mrs.Ann Reid, widow of James P. Reid, who died in Indianapolis, will take place tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence of John Towle, West Fifth street. Burial will be in Earlham cemetery.

Anna T. Reid, widow of the late James Reid, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Anna Cummings at Indianapolis. The body arrived in this city this afternoon and was taken to the home of John W. Towle on West Fifth street. The funeral arrangements will be announced later.
