Mrs. John Stambaugh

Martha Belle Lucas Stambaugh died at her home December 6, 1919, at the age of 51 years, 6 months, and 16 days. She had been an invalid for several years, and for the past month had been confined to her bed from being scalded with hot water. She seemed to be getting along nicely until two days before her death, when she contracted a cold which rapidly developed into pneumonia. Death claimed her Saturday morning, about 3 o'clock.

Mrs. Stambaugh was born May 20, 1869, in Kentucky. On March 14, 1895, she was married to John Stambaugh, a pioneer resident of this community. To this union were born three children, one having died in infancy, Miss Milley, who was at home with her parents, and Mrs. Paul Kelly of Greenwood, Nebr. They, with their father and Mrs. Stambaugh's five brothers and one sister, mourn her death.

Mrs. Stambaugh, though closely confined, was very kind and patient, and was greatly loved by all who knew her. She put great trust in our Saviour.

Funeral services were held at the Baptist church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. A. G. Newberry, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment was made in the Ashland cemetery.
