Mrs. Byron Stephenson

ALBANY — Mrs. Byron Stephenson, 62, died at 12:40 p.m. Thursday in St. Clare Hospital, Monroe, after a four-month illness. For the past 12 years she had been employed as a cook in the Albany High School hot lunch program.

The former Mabel Anderson was born April 13, 1902, in Rock County, the daughter of Anton and Mary Ringen Anderson. She was married to Byron Stephenson Dec. 21, 1924, in Albany. She was a member of the Albany Methodist Church and WSCS, and the Royal Neighbors.

Surviving are her husband; a son, Douglas, of Albany; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph Sellnow, Albany, and Mrs. Fred Frehner, Monroe; eight grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Mary Anderson, rural Janesville; two brothers, Nile Anderson, Beloit, and Alvin Anderson, Brodhead; three sisters, Mrs. Clifford Royce, Beloit, Mrs. Elmer Wilson, Edgerton, and Mrs. Herby Henrikson, Albany.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Sharer Funeral Home, the Rev. Thomas Chinn officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday afternoon and evening.
