PATRICIA ALDEN WEIGEL, daughter of ELIZABETH ALDEN ELWELL and HOWARD NELSON WEIGEL, was born March 17, 1928 in Hennepin County, Minnesota,⁷⁵ and died September 10, 2021 in La Jolla, San Diego, California.⁴⁷¹⁷ She is buried in El Camino Memorial Park, San Diego, San Diego, California.⁴⁷¹⁷

She married (1) EUGENE EDWARD MCCLURE on June 28, 1958 in Plymouth Congregational Church, Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota.⁹³⁷⁷ He was born November 12, 1927 in Englewood, Araphaoe, Colorado,⁷³⁷⁷ and died July 5, 1966 in San Diego County, California.²⁵⁰ He is buried in El Camino Memorial Park, San Diego, San Diego, California.⁴⁵⁶

She married (2) RICHARD STEELE JOINER on January 14, 1978 in San Diego County, California.⁸⁴

Patricia Weigel Becomes Bride of Eugene McClure

Patricia Alden Weigel, La Jolla, Calif., daughter of Mrs. Howard Nelson Weigel, 124 S. Prospect Av., became the bride of Eugene Edward McClure, La Jolla, Saturday at Plymouth Congregational church. Mr. McClure is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Harley McClure, San Diego, Calif.

A bridal dinner was given by Mr. and Mrs. Edwin S. Elwell, Sr., at Minikahda club.

Attendantes were Mrs. Edward Grosse, Mr. and Mrs. Jents T. Anker, Mrs. Edwin H. Wrench, Richard and Robert Weigel, Edwin S. Elwell, Jr., and James McLaughlin.

The bride is a graduate of University of Minnesota, and the groom graduated from San Diego State college. After a northern Minnesota honeymoon, the couple will be at home July 10 in La Jolla.

Eugene E. McClure

Eugene E. McClure, 38, of 6685 Michael John Drive, La Jolla, a Convair design specialist, died yesterday in a hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in La Jolla Mortuary. Interment will be in El Camino Memorial Park.

McClure, born in Denver, was a graduate of San Diego High School and a 1951 graduate of San Diego State, where he was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity. He was a member also of San Diego Toastmasters Club and Torrey Pines Men's Golf Association.

His widow, Patricia; two daughters, Patricia and Marian, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene R. McClure, all of San Diego survive.

La Jolla Light, October 28, 2021⁴⁷¹⁷

Patricia McClure Joiner, passed away at her home in La Jolla on Friday, September 10, 2021 at the proclaimed age of "39." Known to many as Pat or Trisha, she grew up in Minneapolis, MN, one of six children. She graduated from Washburn High School and the University of Minnesota in Education. She belonged to the Delta Gamma Sorority. Patricia followed her sister, Marian, to La Jolla in the early 1950's. She taught Kindergarten in Escondido and Cardiff. Pat loved golfing with Torrey Pines, Coronado, Balboa and Publinks Women's golf leagues. She was also active in the Delta Gamma Alumni Association, and a longtime member of La Jolla Presbyterian Church. A dedicated Mother and Grandmother, she was always there to support the family. Born on St. Patrick's Day, she always enjoyed parties and dancing. She was "Grandma Pat" to everyone's children. Patricia was preceded in death by her husbands (Eugene McClure, Richard Joiner) and her five siblings (Robert, Richard, Elizabeth, Marian, Ruth). She is survived by her children Patti (Robert), Marian (Stephen) and step-daughter Judy (Bob); five grandchildren, and a plethora of relatives who loved her dearly. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 2:00 PM, at La Jolla Presbyterian Church. She will be interred at El Camino Memorial. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
