Luther and Charles Welborn are visiting their old home. The former is one of the teachers at West Point, N. Y., and the latter is connected with the furniture house of Abernathy Bros. of Kansas City, Mo.

Knightstown, Ind., Nov. 18.—(A.P.)—Charles Welborn, 67, audit bureau circulation auditor and well-known in newspaper circles, died early Sunday at the home of a sister, Mrs. A. O. Morris, here following an illness of several months. Welborn's father, Peter Welborn, was a pioneer of this county. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon from the home of another sister, Mrs. Jesse Hewitt, who lives in the house in which Welborn was born. A third sister, Mrs. Nannie Manson of Brookline, Mass., and two brothers, William Welborn and Captain Luther Welborn, U. S. A., retired, both of Knightstown, survive.

Charles E. Welborn, aged 88 years, at the home of his sister, Mrs. Alpheus O. Morris, in South Jefferson street, shortly after 12 o'clock Saturday night. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter C. Welborn, pioneers of Knightstown. At one time Mr. Welborn was credit manager for Hibben, Hollweg & Co., Indianapolis, and later served in the same city for Armour & Co., in Kansas City. For a number of years he has been associated with the Audit Bureau of Circulation, with headquarters in Chicago. Mr. Welborn had traveled in this connection throughout the middle west and was widely known among newspaper and advertising men.
While in the Southwest last spring Mr. Welborn was directed by a physician to return to his Indiana home and receive attention for throat trouble. Later an Indianapolis specialist pronounced Mr. Welborn's case as serious, a growth on the epiglitis. Several months of treatment failed to effect a cure.
Deceased was a member of the Knightstown high school class of [unreadable]. Graduates in the same class include [unreadable] (Mrs. G. P. Craig), R. W. Lowry and Harry L. Hobbs.
Owing to the fact. that the school board decided to charge admission to the graduation exercises that year the members of the class refused to appear and no commencement was held. The half dozen graduates of the class, however, were given their diplomas.
Mi. Welborn served as depot postmaster under the postmastership of the late John Bell.
He is survived by three sisters. Mrs. A. O. Morris at whose home he died, and Mrs. Charles Hewitt, of Knightstown, and Mrs. William Manson, of Brookline, Mass., and two brothers, W. C. Welborn and Capt. Luther Welborn, U. S. A., retired, of Knghtstown.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from the home of Mrs. Hewitt, at the same home where Mr. Welborn was born, conducted by Rev. Graham, of Indianapolis, former pastor of Bethel Presbyterian church. Burial took place at Glencove cemetery in charge of Charles F. Baxter.
