Engineer, 74, Dies In Torrington

Walter A. Williston Was President of Williston Steel Co.

TORRINGTON, Feb. 17 (Special)—Walter A. Williams,[sic] 74, of 613 Prospect St., a civil engineer and president of the Williston Steel Co., died at his home of a heart attact Tuesday night.

Born in Suffield, he had lived in Torrington since 1905 and was a surveyor licensed by the State. He was a member of the Torrington Club.

He leaves a son, Robert M. Williston of Torrington; two daughters, Miss Harriet Williston of Torrington and Mrs. Richard J. Dillon of West Hartford; three grandchildren, and a brother, Burton Williston of Binghamton, N.Y.

The funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Tompkins-North Funeral Home with the Rev. Jay G. Seacord, rector of St. James' Episcopal Church, Winsted, officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
