The wedding of Miss Ruth Adair, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Moorehead, east of the city, and W. T. Winkler, carpenter's mate second class, Seabees, USNR, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. Winkler, east of the city was an event of Wednesday night in the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. C. O. Moorehead, and Mr. Moorehead, 1221 N Independence.
Rev. Bailey Sewell, pastor of Portland Avenue Baptist church, officiated at an altar before the fireplace, banked with spring flowers. Mrs. Esther Borden played the traditional wedding marches.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a dress of white lace and net with a sweetheart neckline. The bodice was of lace and the full-length skirt was of net. Her shoulder length veil was fastened to a halo of lilies of the valley. She carried a bouquet of white carnations.
Mrs. O. P. Stieber, Monahans, Texas, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and Paul Winkler, east of the city, brother of the bridegroom, was best man.
Following a ceremony a reception was held. Mrs. C. O. Moorehead, Mrs. C. L. Adair and Mrs. B. Howland served the cake and assisted in the dining room.
Only members of the family and intimate friends were present.
The bridegroom has been overseas for 25 months and has a Bronze star for each battle in which he participated.
The couple will be at home temporarily at Camp Parks, Calif.

W.T. "Dub" Winkler, 91, of Midwest City, passed away March 15, 2014, in Oklahoma City. W.T. was born to Thomas E. & Edna (Chilcote) Winkler near Meeker on March 21, 1922. W.T. was the youngest boy in the family of ten and worked in construction and farming in his younger years. Dub served in the 46th Battalion, u.S. Navy Seabees in the South Pacific during WWII. After the war, Dub spent his working career as a union carpenter in Oklahoma City. He married Ruth Marie Adair on March 21, 1945. Dub was preceded in death by his wife, three brothers and four sisters. Dub is survived by his children: Gary and Mary (Lupe) Winkler, of Harrah; Terrell Winkler, of Midwest City; Lisa and Mark Dolph, of Tulsa; and Holly and Carl Crowe, of Bentonville, AR; sisters: Dolores Shingleton, of Claremore; and Verna Dykstra, of Citrus Heights, CA. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home Chapel with interment at 4 p.m. at the Jamison Cemetery, McLoud, OK.
