Area pioneers Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. Winkler will celebrate their Golden wedding anniversary in their home northwest of Mcloud on Sunday, July 23, from 2 till 5 p.m.
Their four sons and six daughters will serve as host, extend a cordial invitation to the couples friends to call and help observe the happy occasion. Mr. Winkler came to Oklahoma in 1901 from Topaz, Missouri and Mrs. Winkler, the former Edna Chilcote came to Oklahoma in 1895 from Hewens, Kansas. They attended school together at Pleasant View, northwest of McLoud, in 1902.
They were married July 23, 1911 at Edmond, Oklahoma settling in the Meeker and McLoud vicinity, and reared their ten children.
Their children who will be present are Mrs. Ruth Mosier, Chickasha; Paul, Ivan and Harold Winkler all of the McLoud area; Mrs. Lora Mosier, Sperry; W. T. Winkler, Choctaw; Mrs. Valdora Mosier, Shawnee; Mrs. Dolores Shingleton, McAlister and Mrs. Geneva Johnson, Nicoma Park. There will be thirty-three grandchildren and four great grandchildren present.
Mrs. Verna Dykstra of Portland, Oregon will be unable to attend.

Geneva Marie Johnson was born on May 19, 1930 in Meeker, OK and passed away on March 10, 2005, following a stroke. She was the youngest of ten children. She married Lloyd Johnson on October 21, 1949 and out of this union had three children: a daughter, Diana, and two sons, Bruce and Mark. She was a long time member at Nicoma Park Baptist Church and loved working in the nursery. She took pride in working part-time with her daughter at Dog's Beautiful, a family business. She enjoyed cooking, needlepoint and sewing. Her life's greatest enjoyment was being surrounded by her family, and helping others in need. She was an avid animal lover. Geneva was preceded in death by a son, granddaughter, her parents and two siblings. Geneva is survived by her husband Lloyd of the home, and her loyal companions, the dogs, Ellie, Annie, and Holly; her children, Diana Johnson of Del City, Bruce Johnson & wife Cindy of OKC, and Mark Johnson & wife Dianna of MWC; her granddaughters, Alicia Hunt of OKC, Caitlin and Lauren Johnson of MWC; two great grandsons, Ryan and Alex Hunt of OKC, brothers and sister, nieces, nephews, and countless friends who loved her and considered her their own mother. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be make to the Southern Baptist Falls Creed Fund. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Nicoma Park with burial at Jamison Cemetery.
