Joseph W. Heffner

Joseph W. Heffner, 69, husband of Hazel V. Geiselman Heffner, 450 S. George St., died at 11:55 p.m. Monday at York Hospital where he had been a patient two weeks. He was born in Brogue, a son of the late Amos and Della Welsh Heffner.

Mr. Heffner was custodian at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and previously was employed by Medusa Cement Co. He was a member of St. Paul's church and was a veteran of World War I.

Surviving besides his widow are a son, Mark Heffner, Oakland, Calif.; three stepchildren, Mrs. Pauline Werning, 47 E. Cottage Place; Mrs. Bette Beecher, 911 S. Russell St., and Harry F. Hershey, 911 S. Russell St.; two stepgrandchildren; three step great-grandchildren, and five sisters, Mrs. Ivy Butcher, 2185 S. Queen St.; Mrs. WIlliam Copp, Manchester RD 1; Mrs. Beulah Dietz, 714 W. Clarke Ave.; Mrs. Ethel Markel, 347 Susquehanna Ave., and Mrs. Edna Ferree, 17 Broad St., Dallastown.

The Rev. Dr. Richard C. Kiick will officiate at funeral services Friday at 2 p.m. at the Heffner Funeral Home, 1701 W. Market St. Interment will be in Mount Rose Cemetery.

Hazel V. Heffner

Hazel V. Heffner, 86, of York County Hospital and Home, formerly of 350 E. Philadelphia St., died at 9 a.m. Tuesday at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Joseph W. Heffner.

The service will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Etzweiler Funeral Home, 1111 F. Market St. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. Viewing will be 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 25 W. Springettsbury Ave., York, 17403.

Mrs. Heffner was born in York, the daughter of the late Joseph W. and Mary R. (Mann) Geiselman.

She was a retired employee of Bayuk Cigar Co. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Heffner is survived by two daughters, Pauline Schlegel and Betty Beecher, both of york; a stepson, Mark K. Heffner, Oakland, Calif.; two granddaughters, four great-grandchildren; a brother, James R. Geiselman, York; two sisters, Florence McClain, Dallastown, and Lenora Rabenstine, 350 E. Philadelphia St.

Officiating at the service will be her pastor, the Rev. F. Mark Walters.
