THANKSGIVING WEDDING

Miss Elizabeth Hoke, Nashville, Becomes Bride of Ivan Slagle

Spring Grove, Nov. 27.—A Thanksgiving day wedding was solemnized at the home of George Hoke, a well known merchant residing at Nashville, when his eldest daughter, Miss Elizabeth Hoke, was married to Ivan Slagle, a wheelwright of Brillharts. The ceremony was performed in the parlor of the Hoke residence at 7:30 o'clock, by the Rev. Dr. O. P. Shellhamer. The ring ceremony was used. The bride was attired in a gown of white crepe de chine, and wore a white veil trimmed with bride's roses. Members of the immediate families and the following invited guests: Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Hoke, Mrs. Amanda Bentzel, Miss Elizabeth Heindel and Miss Elizabeth Swartz, witnessed the ceremony.

Ivan E. Slagle

Ivan Eugene Slagle, 1524 Devers Road, died at 2:50 p.m. yesterday at Pleasant Acres hospital. He was 71.

A retired blacksmith, he was the son of the late Cornelius and Flora Fickes Slagle.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth J. Slagle, and the following children: Eleanor E. Slagle, Spring Grove RD 1; Mrs. Dorris Cohen, 126 North Oxford street, and Richard Lee Slagle, 1524 Devers road; a brother, Edwin S. Slagle, 1222 West King street; three grandchildren, Reina Ashley Shue, Richard Lee Slagle, and Philip Henry Cohen, and one great-grandson, William A. Shue.

Funeral arrangements were incomplete last night. Interment will be in St. Paul's (Wolf's) cemetery.

Elizabeth Hoke Slagle

Elizabeth Hoke Slagle, 87 103 E. Market St., died Saturday evening at her home. She was the widow of Ivan E. Slagle.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Baumeister and Orcutt Colonial Mortuary, South Queen and Jackson Street. Burial will be in Wolf's Church Cemetery. There will be a viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Slagle was born in Nashville Pa., a daughter of the late George and Ellamanda Stambaugh Hoke. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ.

She is survived by a son, Richard Slagle, Spring Grove RD 4; two daughters, Elenor Slagle, at home, and Dorris Sweigart, 540 Haines Rd.; three grandsons; 2 great-grandsons; and a great-great-grandson.

Her pastor, the Rev. Benjamin T. Griffin, will officiate. He will be assisted by former pastor, the Rev. C. Eugene Blum.
