BEMIS-LAUGHRIDGE

Miss Caroline Marie Bemis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Bemis, Evansville, and George Eugene Laughridge, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Laughridge, Albany, were married at 8 p. m. on Saturday in the Footville Church of Christ. Candelabra, palms, and pink and white carnations and snapdragons decorated the church. The Rev. B. L. Stevens officiated.

The bride, whose father gave her in marriage, wore a dress of white brocaded satin with a net skirt, and a fingertip veil attached to a beaded crown. She carried red roses.

Miss Vivian Bemis, the bride's sister, was her maid of honor, wearing blue taffeta with a net skirt. SHe carried a nosegay of gardenias.

The bridesmaids, Miss Eleanore Berndt, Footville, and Miss Louise selck, Janesville, wore deep rose dresses and had bouquets of pink and white rosebuds.

Daryl Bernstein, the bridegroom's nephew, was ringbearer.

Serving Mr. Laughridge as best man was his brother, William. The groomsmen were Joseph Appleman and Walter Sagen. Wendell Curry and Gordon Nipple were the ushers and candlebearers.

The bride's mother wore a light blue dress with black accessories, and the bridegroom's mother wore a dark blue dress. Their corsages were of red roses.

Assisting at the reception, held in the church parlors, were Mrs. Chrystal Eastman, Mrs. Bernice Curry, Mrs. Mabel Klusmeyer, Mrs. Carol Frankenburger, all of Footville; Miss Lucille Nipple, Evansville; Miss Dorothy McGrath, Argyle; and Miss Daisy Spencer, Footville.

Mr. and Mrs. Laughridge will make their home near Janesville. The bride is employed at the Parker Pen Co., Janesville, and the bridegroom is employed at the Chevrolet Co. there.
