Albany Girl Is Wed in Monroe

Albany—Miss Emily Belle Laughridge, daughter or Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Laughridge, residing a mile south of Albany, and Francis J. McGrath, Argyle, were marred at 7 a. m. Thursday in St. Victor's Catholic church at Monroe, the Rev. A. P. Krause reading the ceremony. The attendants were Miss Iva Laughridge, sister of the bride, and Victor McGrath, brother of the groom. The bride wore a fawn colored flat crepe dress with jacket and hat to match. her maid of honor wore a rose colored crepe dress. Each carried a bouquet of roses and sweet peas. Immediately following the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride's parents here. Later the couple left on an auto trip to northern Wisconsin, after which they will make their home on a farm near Argyle. Mrs. McGrath graduated from the Albany high school with the class of 1927 and from the Green county normal in 1928. Since then she has been teaching in the rural schools in the county.

Francis McGrath, 59, of Argyle, died at 12:10 p.m. today in St. Clare hospital. He had been admitted at 2:50 a.m. this morning.

Arrangements are pending at the Erickson funeral home, Argyle.

JANESVILLE—Emily B. Mueller, age 89, formerly of Argyle, WI, passed away on Mon., June 22, 1998, at Mercy Hospital in Janesville. She was born in Sylvester Township, WI, on May 29, 1909, the daughter of Eugene and Alma (Sylvester) Laughridge. Emily graduated from Albany High School and later from Green Co. Normal School. On May 26, 1932, she was united in marriage to Francis McGrath at St. Victor's Catholic Church in Monroe, WI. He preceded her in death on June 29, 1964. On Feb. 8, 1968, she married Paul Mueller at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Argyle. Emily live din the Argyle and Jordan Township areas all of her married life until she and Paul moved to Janesville in early 1995. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Argyle and its Altar Sodality. She was also a member of the Green Co. Homemakers Clubs, the Jordan Center Sewing Club, and also served as a 4-H leader. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Paul at home; a daughter, Dorothy Crotty of Janesville; 4 grandchildren: John Crotty, Kathy Grace, Sandra Crotty and Joe Crotty; 5 great-grandchildren: Tasha Crotty, Jason Grace, Rory Crotty, Stevie Pfeiffer, and Matt Grace; a great-great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Grace; 4 brothers: Donal Laughridge and Ray (Carol) Laughridge, both of Albany, WI, Moses (Elene) Laughridge of San Francisco, CA, and George (Caroline) Laughridge of Florida; 2 sisters, iva Briggs of Brooklyn Township, WI, and Ruby (Herbert) Bernstein of Evansville, WI. She was preceded in death by parents; a son-in-law, Bill Crotty; 3 sisters; a brother; 2 great-grandchildren, Amber Pfeiffer and James Crotty; and a brother-in-law, Victor McGrath.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thurs., June 25, 1998, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Argyle, with Rev. George Hastrich officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Monroe. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Erickson Funeral Home, Argyle, where a Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
