ALBANY (Times Special) — Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Laughridge will observe their golden wedding anniversary Sunday with an open house at their farm home, south of town, from 2 to 5 p. m.
Mrs. Herbert Bernstein, Evansville, will have charge of the guest book; Mrs. Tilman Nipple, Albany, will serve the cake and Mrs. Francis McGrath, Argyle, and Mrs. Clarence Zweiful, Brooklyn, will pour.
The former Alma Sylvester and Eugene Laughridge were married at the Freeport Methodist parsonage Aug. 22, 1905. They have lived in the town of Sylvester, near Browntown, Woodford and Brodhead and the past 39 years near Albany. Mr. Laughridge is a native of Ohio and came to Green County at the age of 21. Mrs. Laughridge was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Moses Sylvester, early settlers of Sylvester Township.
The Laughridges are the parents of 11 children, five sons and six daughters. A son, Franklin, died at the age of 11, and a daughter, Mrs. Blanche Meyer died last January. They have 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

ALBANY—Eugene Laughridge, 78, died in his home a mile south of Albany at 11 o'clock this morning. He had been ill three weeks.
The son of William and Rachel Shambaugh Laughridge, he was born in Hicksville, Ind., Sept. 6, 1879. He came to Wisconsin in 1900 and was married to Alma Sylvester, town of Sylvester, Green County, Aug. 22, 1905, in Freeport. They lived in the Browntown area for a time and 41 years ago moved to the farm where he died.
Survivors are his wife; five daughters, Mrs. Tilman Nipple, Albany, Mrs. Francis McGrath, Argyle, Mrs. Cyrill Briggs and Mrs. Clarence Zweifel, Brooklyn, Mrs. Herbert Bernstein, Evansville; five sons, Donald and Ray, Albany, George, Edgerton, and Moses, Coloma, Calif. A daughter, Mrs. Walter Meyer, died in 1955 and a son, Franklin, in 1922.
Funeral arrangements are being made at the Sharer Funeral Home.

ALBANY — Mrs. Alma Laughridge, 78, widow of a retired farmer, died Monday at her farm home 2 miles south of Albany after a long illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Sharer Funeral Home, Albany.
The former Alma Sylvester was the daughter of a pioneer Albany area family. Before her 1905 marriage to Eugene Laughridge, she taught for several years in rural area schools.
Her husband farmed and was a Green County road employe for 20 years. They observed their 50th wedding anniversary in 1955. Mr. Laughridge died in 1957.
Surviving Mrs. Laughridge are five daughters, Mrs. Tilman Nipple and Mrs. Cyril Briggs, both of Albany; Mrs.Clarence Zweifel, Brooklyn; Mrs. Francis McGrath, Argyle; and Mrs. Herbert Bernstein, Evansville.
Four sons, Donald and Ray, both of Albany; George, Edgerton; and Moses, Coloma, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Purinton, Monticello; and Mrs. John Tobler, Monmouth, Ore.; two brothers, Maurice, Shell Lake; and Walter, Brownsville, Tex.; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home until time of services.
