Miss Eleanor Graf, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl H. Graf of 281 State street, and Theodore Edwin Steers, of Albany and New York, son of Mrs. William Vrooman Steers of Willett street, were married this afternoon in the Westminster Presbyterian Church. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. V. Mohlenbawer, pastor, in the presence of 500 guests. The church was attractively decorated with palms, ferns, and Easter lilies. A program of wedding music by J. Austin Springer while the guests were arriving.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white duchess satin, made in straight lines and heavily embroidered in pearls and crystal beads. Her veil of duchess lace was trimmed with pearls and caught with orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of bride's roses and lilies of the valley.
Miss Madeline Graf, sister of the bride, as maid of honor, was gowned in pale gray chiffon with hat of gray chiffon. She carried a bouquet of American Beauty.
The bridesmaids wore gowns made alike, fashioned with long wide sashes of gray chiffon and four panels. All wore gray chiffon hats and gray chiffon slippers. Miss Miriam Georgia Hoy was gowned in jade green; Miss Elizabeth Beeker in old blue and Miss Ruth Baldwin of Newark in rose. Their bouquets were of pink sweet peas with ribbons to match their dresses.
Miss Caroline Graf, niece of the bride, as flower girl, wore a frock of pink chiffon and pink chiffon hat and carried a basket of flowers.
Carl Graf, brother of the bride, was page. William Vrooman Steers, brother of the bridegroom, was best man, and the ushers included David M. Skinner, Vanderbogart Erben and Meade Brunig of Schenectady, Charles R. Chapman of Syracuse, Frank Jenkins, jr., of New York city, and Edgar Throne Wheeler.
After the ceremony a large reception took place in the home of the bride's parents. The house was decorated with spring flowers, palms and ferns. The wedding couple were assisted in receiving by their mothers, Mrs. Graf and Mrs. Steers. Mrs. Graf wore a gown of old blue brocaded chiffon and hat of silver and blue. Mr. and Mrs. Steers will leave on a wedding trip tonight and upon their return will make their home in New York.
The Grafs have been residents of Albany for the last five years, coming here from Indianapolis. The bride is a graduate of the Albany Academy for Girls, and of the Dwight school, Englewood, N. J. She is a member of the Junior League of Albany. Mr. Steers served in the war as a lieutenant in the British Royal Air force and is a member of the Aero club of Canada and of the American Flying club. He attended the Albany Boys' academy and is connected with a New York banking firm.
