David William Whipple, 99, of Brownsburg, died Monday, April 4, 2005 at his home.
Mr. Whipple was born on July 12, 1905 in Brownsburg and was the last surviving child of David Johnston Whipple and Eleanor Ervine Whipple.
He was a member of the New Providence Presbyterian Church and the Brownsburg Ruritan Club. He was inducted into the American Saddle Horse Association of Virginia Hall of Fame in 1993. He was avid horseman and devoted his life to training and showing Saddlebreds.
Mr. Whipple is survived by two nieces, Virginia Whipple Winfree, Sue Whipple Hecht, two nephews, Ralph Baker, Fred R. Whipple Jr., one sister-in-law, Mollie Sue Whipple and his friend, business partner & caregiver, Larry McKemy.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 AM on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 in New Providence Cemetery with Rev. Christoper Crotwell officiating.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the New Providence Presbyterian Church Cemetery or the Virginia Horse Center.
