Daniel Bixler, 82 years old, a retired farmer, died yesterday of pneumonia at his home, 1321 west Linden avenue, Independence. Before coming to Independence twelve years ago, Mr. Bixler was a farmer in Saline County, Mo. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Bixler of the home, and two sisters, Mrs. Allie Beeler and Mrs. Sarah Collins, both of Millersburg, O. Funeral services will be at 9 o'clock Saturday morning at the home. Burial will be Saturday afternoon at Malta Bend, Mo.—Kansas City Times.
Mr. Bixler was related to the Houston family of Malta Bend, and was an active farmer in Saline county until he retired some years ago and moved to Independence.

BIXLER—Mrs. Elizabeth Bixler, 73 years old, died unexpectedly yesterday of heart disease at her home, 1321 West Linden avenue, Independence. She was the widow of Daniel Bixler, a retired farmer, who died in September 1928. They came to Independence from Sweet Springs, Mo., twenty years ago. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. A. N. Irving, Fort Scott, Kas., and Mrs. James McClelland, Olathe, Kas., and two brothers, Sherman Houston and Lawrence Houston, both of Malta Bend, Mo.

The will of Mrs. Elizabeth Bixler, who died April 15 at her home, 132 West Linden avenue, Independence, was filed in the probate court yesterday.
It was made January 4, a short time after the death of her husband, Daniel Bixler. The estate is estimated at $75,000, mostly in securities.
The bequests:
The First Methodist Episcopal church, South, in Independence, of which Mrs. Bixler was a member, $200.
The Malta Bend Cemetery Association, Malta Bend, Mo., where Mrs. Bixler formerly resided, $500.
Mrs. Belle Houston Irvine of Fort Scott, Kas., and Mrs. Florence Houston McClelland of Olathe, Kas., sisters, $15,000 each.
Sherman Houston and Lawrence Houston, brothers, $5,000 each.
Lawrence McRoberts, nephew, and Ellen McRoberts and Mary Elizabeth McRoberts, nieces, Malta Bend, $5,000 each.
Mrs. Amelia Walker, a friend, formerly of Malta Bend, but now of Roswell, N. M., $500.
The household goods and other personal property except money, notes and bonds, is to be given Mrs. Irvine and Mrs. McClelland, and the residue is to be given nieces and nephews.
Llewellyn Jones was named executor.
