Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Henderson, who live west of Yale, announce the marriage of their daughter, Miss Donna Lee Henderson, to Ben Jack Powers, north of the city.

The couple exchanged vows April 4 in the First Baptist Church of Cushing before an altar banked with large baskets of calla lilies and greenery. Tall white lighted tapers in candelabra were placed on either side.

Rev. Leo Bowers, of Norfolk, officiated at the double ring ceremony.

Preceding the ceremony, a quartet composed of Mrs. Roy L. Lee, Mrs. Byron Tresler, Page Henderson and Cleberon Heflin sang "I Love You Truly". They were accompanied by Miss Mary Alice Bowers who also played the traditional wedding music.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a blue suit with matching headdress and shoulder length veil. Her accessories were sable mist and she carried a white Bible topped with an orchid and tube roses from which fell a shower of white satin streamers. The bridal tradition of "something old, something new" was carried out.

Miss Wiletta Paden, Perry, niece of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a dress of pink eyelet embroidery. Her accessories were of navy blue and her shoulder corsage was white carnations.

Candle-lighters were Miss Helen Humphery and Miss Doris Humphrey, Stillwater, cousins of the bride. They wore pink suits accented by white accessories. Their shoulder corsages were of white carnations.

Jimmy Pritchett, close friend of the groom, served as best man. Ushers were Jack Perry, Bill Breedlove, Vinita, and Durrell Treadwell, Perry.

A reception was given, following the ceremony for approximately 50 of the 80 wedding guests. This was held in the home of the bride's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Page Henderson, north of the city.

The table was covered with a lace cloth and centered with a tiered wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and groom. The crystal punch bowl was flanked on either side by lighted white candles in crystal holders.

Mrs. M. R. Henderson and Mrs. Clarence Paden, both of Perry, presided after the bride cut and served the first piece of cake to her husband. Miss Betty Lou Sippy of Vinita had charge of the guest book.

Mrs. Henderson, mother of the bride, wore an aqua dress with black accessories. Her shoulder corsage was of pink and white carnations.Mrs. Powers, mother of the groom, was unable to attend due to illness.

Mrs. Powers graduated from the Vinita high school with the class of 1947. While in high school she was member of the Order of Rainbow for Girls, the pep club, glee club, band and other organizations. She also attended school at Norfolk.
