Tanner-Dyer

A wedding took place Monday December 22, at the Maples, home of Mrs. Belle Dyer west of Marshall, the contracting parties Miss Emily Dyer, a daughter of the household, and Mr. Edward Tanner of Walker, Va. Rev. Clyde Sheltman of St. Louis officiating.

An elegant wedding breakfast followed immediately after the ceremony.

The bride and groom came to Marshall and took the 11:15 train for the home of the groom in Virginia.

Edwin W. Tanner Passed Away Today

Services Will Be Monday At 10 A. M. At Mt. Carmel Church

Edwin Walker Tanner, 63, of Miami, passed away this morning at 4:53 o'clock at St. Luke's hospital in Kansas City. Mr. Tanner had been in failing health for the past 18 months and in the hospital 12 days.

Funeral services will be Monday, September 28, at 10 a. m. at the Mt. Carmel Methodist church. The body was brought to the Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home this afternoon.

Mr. Tanner, the son of Beauregard and Margaret Kirtley Tanner, was born in Madison, Va., January 27, 1890. He was made in marriage to Miss Emily Dyer at the home of Mrs. Belle Dyer, December 22, 1913. He had been a resident of Saline county forty years coming here from Madison, Va., and was a member of the Mt. Carmel Methodist church.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Emily Tanner of the home; three sons, Warren Tanner, Kansas City and Raymond and Ernest Tanner of Miami; two grandchildren; a brother, Henry Tanner, Madison, Va.; four sisters, Mrs. Grace Payne, and Mrs. Ernest Yowell of Madison, Va.; Mrs. Sid Raddish, Radian, Va.; Mrs. Roderick Daffin, Manassas, Va.
