Nona Ruth Alexander

LeROY — Nona Ruth Alexander, 90, of Hillcrest Apartments died at 6:30 a.m. yesterday (May 21, 1985) at the McLean County Nursing Home, Normal, where she had been a resident five weeks.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Bruce Memorial Home, the Rev. David Hurley officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, LeRoy.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the memorial home.

She was born Dec. 6, 1894, on a farm in Empire Township, a daughter of James and Loretta Johns Craig. She married George Alexander May 26, 1926, at Bloomington. He died April 10, 1966.

Surviving are two sons, Hobart, Charlotte, N.C., and Robert LeRoy; a daughter, Nancy Jane Short, Lakewood, Colo.; a brother, Clifford Bloomington; a sister Lena Williams, LeRoy; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A brother and a sister preceded her in death.

Mrs. Alexander lived her entire life in the LeRoy area, attending schools and churches there.

She was a avid collector of antique dishes and also enjoyed crocheting.

Memorial may be made to the LeRoy Ambulance Service.
