Orvel Alexander

HUNTINGTON — Funeral services for S. Orvel Alexander, 67, Huntington, will be held at 10;30 a.m. Monday at the Robbins Funeral Home, Huntington, with the Rev. David Rowand officiating.

Mr. Alexander died at 2:55 a.m. Friday at the Huntington County Hospital, where he had been a patient for one day. He had been seriously ill for two week.s

He was born in Wabash and had resided in Huntington for 38 years. He retired from the Indiana Bell Telephone Co. in 1966 after 43 years of service.

Surviving are the widow, Helen; two daughters, Mrs. Donald Garwood, Rt. 2, LaFontaine, and Mrs. Robert Carey, Fort Wayne; a brother, Theodore, Leipsig, Mich.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Chamus, Warsaw, and seven grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Robbins Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory.

Helen H. Alexander

HUNTINGTON — Helen H. Alexander, 96, Miller's Merry Manor, died at 12:50 p.m. Tuesday in the center.

Mrs. Alexander was born in Wabash. She was a former resident of 1405 Garfield St. She married Orvel Alexander on Oct. 30, 1921, in Wabash. He died June 21, 1969. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Central Christian Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Jane (Mrs. Donald) Garwood, Huntington, and Barbara (Mrs. Robert) Carey, Peru; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

There will be no service or visitation.

Following cremation, burial will be in Gardens of Memory cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Central Christian Church.

Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., is in charge of the arrangements.
