EDINBURG, Dec. 30—Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sweeney celebrated their wedding anniversary Monday, Dec. 28 at that home in Maurertown, with 60 guests attending. Mrs. Sweeney before marriage was Miss Flora Wisman, daughter of Mr. and Mr. Joseph Wisman, of Edinburg.
A buffet supper was served by Miss Hilda Sweeney and Marie Wisman, of Washington and Mrs. Edward Phillips of Baltimore.

WOODSTOCK, Aug. 13—Charles M. Sweeney, 60, well-known resident of Shenandoah County and superintendent of the Shenandoah County almshouse, died suddenly from acute indigestion at his home near Maurertown today. His death came as a great shock to his many friends.
Mr. Sweeney was born and spent practically his entire life in Shenandoah county where he was well known and held in esteem by all. He had been superintendent of the almshouse for the past 12 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two brothers and several children.
No funeral arrangemetns had been made late tonight.

Funeral services for Charles M. Sweeney, 59, superintendent of the Shenandoah County almshouse who died Sunday afternoon were held Tuesday afternoon, from the Maurertown Brethren Church. Services were conducted by Rev. Warren Baldwin, assisted by Rev. E. L. Miller.
Rev. John Locke conducted the services at the home. Misses Naomi and Bertha Carpor sang "In the Sweet By and By."
The deceased was born near St. Luke, on Aug. 23, 1880 and would have been 60 years old on Aug. 23. He was the son of J. W. and Jane Kern Sweeney and spent his entire life in Shenandoah county.
He is survived by his wife who was Miss Flora Wisman of Edinburg and one daughter, Miss Hilda of Washington; two sons, Emmet of Silver Springs, Md., and Tommy at home; two brothers, H. P. and G. H. Sweeney of Edinburg.
