Richard Painter

EDINBURG - Richard Henry Painter, 85, of Rt. 2, Edinburg died Sunday at the Susan Miller Nursing Home in Woodstock.

Mr. Painter was born June 23, 1893 at Edinburg and was a son of the late Joseph H. and Dora Kelley Painter.

He was a retired farmer and a member of the Maurertown Brethren Church.

His wife, the former Grace Wisman, survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Wanda P. Middleton of Mount Jackson, Elaine E. Gochenour of Maurertown and Mildred A. Painter of Edinburg, and four grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock by the Rev. Kent Bennett. Burial will be in Cedarwood Cemetery at Edinburg.

The family will receive friends 7:30-8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Woodstock Rescue Squad.

Grace Painter

EDINBURG - Grace Catherine Painter, 92, of edinburg died Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mildred A. Painter.

Mrs. Painter was born April 6, 1895, at St. Luke in Shenandoah County and was a daughter of the late Joseph F. and Lue Ella Maphis Wisman.

She was a member of the Maurertown Brethren Church.

Mrs. Painter was the widow of Richard H. Painter.

Surviving, in addition to Mildred Painter, are two other daughters, Wanda P. Middleton of Mount Jackson and Elaine E. Gochenour of Maurertown; and four granchildren.

The funeral will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Dellinger Funeral Home in woodstock by the Rev. Richard Craver. Burial will be in Cedarwood Cemetery in Edinburg.

The family will receive friends 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Flowers will be accepted, but donations may be made to the Woodstock Rescue Squad.
