Albany Civil War Veteran Dies at 83

Moses Wood Sylvester Succumbs at Home

ALBANY—Final taps were sounded Monday for Moses Wood Sylvester, 83, one of the few remaining Civil war veterans, who died at his home here. Survivors are the widow, four daughters and two sons: Mrs. Charles Purintun, Monticello; Mrs. John Tobler, Mosuero, N. M.; Morris A Sylvester, Spooner; Walter F. Sylvester, Brownsville, Tex.; Mrs. Eugene Lockridge, and Mrs. Albert Lewis, Albany; one brother, Henry, Aberdeen S. D., who served with a Kansas regiment in the Civil war.

Albany Woman Dead in Waupaca

Albany—Mrs. Emily Sylvester, a resident here for many years, died Sunday in the veterans' home near Waupaca, according to word received here. The body will be brought to Albany for burial. Mrs. Sylvester went to Waupaca in October to spend the winter.
